I'll be there this weekend, showing off some work. It will be pretty exciting to participate in an event that I have attended so often in the past. Plus, who doesn't love late night art 'n pancakes?

Fabrication
I am super excited to be working with the folks over at Spoonflower, where I will be breathing life into my drawings. I have been creating some geometric and tribal patterns that I cannot wait to see transformed into amazing fabrics. Heck, I even plan on creating some wallpaper and covering an entire room with my patterns! Oh, the possibilities, I will keep you posted on the final product!

My Studio
My precious studio workspace is coming along beautifully. In search for ideas for my desk I got inspired by a local artist Thomas Wold. So I decided to indulge in one of my favorite pastimes, dumpster diving, my dirty little pleasure, and get to building!
On my hunt, I found some really nice vintage pieces that I deserved another chance and after some restoration, couple coats of paint, and some carpentry we balanced the pieces on top of each other to create this sweet, little baby right here. Pretty spiffy eh?

Dumpster diving:

I can't help it, I see a heap of discarded furniture all piled up on the edge of the sidewalk and I do a double take. In the seven seconds it takes to cruise by in my car I have already scanned the goods, visualized them with a fresh coat of paint and made a mental note of their location so I can come back when I have the appropriate amounts of time and car-space to rescue them, if you're not afraid to get ur hands dirty there are definitely some treasures to be found. I get a kick out of breathing new life into a piece that someone has given up on, taking something old and giving it value and it's so much more logistical than adopting puppies to satiate my rescue fix. Luckily, in my neck of the woods in San Francisco's east bay area people toss out old goodies left and right. Now if I only had enough time and space for all the goodies out there.
